Guys! A wedding weekend recap is definitely coming, but first... I got all my hair chopped off!!! It feels crazy. Crazy good. I hope it looks as good as it feels because it feels great. It's out of my face and it's a literal weight off my shoulders. I'm still getting used to styling it, so it probably looks funny. It dries really quickly, so I have to move fast!
Now, let's rewind real quick... Over a decade ago I tried this 'do for the first time. I was trying to look like Anne Heche in 6 Days 7 Nights. We freaking loved that movie. (Anyone else?) I think I actually carried the DVD cover with me to the stylist. My family tells me it was cute, but I'm not so sure. Here's some photographic proof. These were taken at my Mom and Lee's wedding. I didn't wear pearls often. I was more of a baseball hat kind of girl. Still am.
I have one distinct memory of being confused for a boy. We were eating in a dark restaurant, and I was in the back of the booth wearing a baseball hat. And we ran into a man who clearly knew our family, but he said something about "the little guy back there." He may have been joking, but I didn't take it that way at the time. Mom, do you remember that?! I feel like we were at a Ruby Tuesdays on that road out by the DMV on the way to the mall. He was probably joking, right?
Here's another fun tidbit... This is the phase of my sister's hair that we have affectionately dubbed the mushroom. She didn't yet know the gloriousness of her curly hair. She's improved just a smidge since then.
Aww, hey Mom! You sure are a pretty bride! And you loved your fake boy and your mushroom head through all that mess. Kudos to you.

oh my gosh, whatever!! Little Whitney is adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great then and now! Love it, happy you took the plunge!
Love it! So pretty and stlyish. Have you seen ban.do hair accessories? I think you may have mentioned them here before, but they have some pretty head bands that would be fun with your new cut.
ReplyDeleteAdorable then and gorgeous now! You definitely pull off short hair beautifully!
ReplyDeleteWhitney, I love it! I'm a short haired girl too and I'm never going back. I wore it long for several years and I can't believe it now. It took so long to get ready. After my girls were born, I needed something easy, but chic.
ReplyDeleteLove yours, can't wait to see more pics!
