The search for my wedding dress was definitely fun - I wasn't sure if I'd find THE perfect dress and get all sappy and know it was the one as soon as I put it on or if I would just have a favorite. Turns out, this dress wasn't my favorite the first time I saw it. I had envisioned myself in something with tiny cap sleeves, so the first time we went to Nitza's in Charlotte, I picked my top three - this dress was number three. I tried a few non-strapless options and wasn't in love with the way the cap sleeves felt on my shoulders. I ended up falling in love with the tight, mermaid shape of THE dress. And yes, I did cry when I put this dress on... the second time.
I'm a petite girl... And I wanted to feel like a woman on my wedding day rather than the normal I-get-confused-for-a-sixteen-year-old feeling, so the mermaid shape of the dress was perfect for me. It was tight around at hips and knees and then opened up into the train.
I chose a cage veil and I'm still in love with it. I keep it safe in a hat box and think about putting it on every now and then.

It's gorgeous Whitney! You looked amazing and I love your choice of veil. Perfect combination.
