I'm not sure what happened over the weekend, but all of a sudden, I am full of Halloween spirit. Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but you wouldn't know that if you saw my house this weekend. Gold praypainted pumpkins, mini plywood pumpkins, and a giant pumpkin diy (coming next week!). First up, these tiny plywood pumpkins were easy and fun! I imagine they'd be really fun to do with kids.
First, grab the doorknob-hole-cutter for the drill and cut out a bunch of holes. I did three different sizes.
Next, take some sandpaper and get rid of the yucky edges. (If you used a nicer wood, it might not splinter as bad - we just had some extra plywood laying in the garage. Plus, plywood is cheap.)
Then, sand those babies down real smooth.
And now, the fun part! Paint them all sorts of Halloween-y colors!
Paint some scary faces and some nice faces.
I might use mine as a spooky little place card replacement - I'd tell my guests to find their favorite pumpkin and they can take him home at the end of the night.
There you go! Easy and Halloween-y. Let me know if you try them. And come back next week for the other end of the size spectrum - a giant pumpkin diy!
